New version coming soon with PDF export of a public drawing
RandomNames is an app designed to replace your traditional draw a name from a hat scenario. This modern take gives you the ability to create a list of people either manually by entering their names and picture or by selecting the person out of your contacts list. You can now select people that you should not be able to draw such as a spouse in most cases.
Once you have created your list you have three options: Public Drawing, Secret Drawing, or Group Generator. The public drawing allows everyone to see who each other has drawn. In this type of drawing your name and the person you have drawn is displayed in the table as you draw the name. A secret drawing does not allow everyone to see who each other has drawn. When you draw your name you will get a notification of who you drew. Once you close the notification you can no longer access this name so make sure you write it down or use the texting feature to send yourself a message from the device.
For random drawings you simply tap your name to draw from the pool of people minus anyone you excluded. Due to issues preventing lists from completing because the last person could only draw an excluded person, there are limitations to how many people you can exclude based on group size and the drawing must proceed based on highest to lowest total number of exclusions.
For the group generator you simply enter the number of groups you wish to split the list into and everyone will be assigned to a group.
